Crassula ovata is a slow-growing shrub forming succulent with thick round, fleshy leaves, often edged in red. Mature plants can form clusters of small white or light pink star-shaped flowers in late winter to early spring.

Great for most purposes, including planting directly into the ground or kept as a tidy container grown ornamentals. They are especially ideal for starting as a beginner bonsai plant.

Jade plants can grow up to 1 to 3 metres over many years if planted in the ground. However, Crassula ovata may only grow a couple of inches a year.
